Structural monitoring

The main monitoring activities can be summarized as follows:

preventive control of the instrumentation to be installed;
supervision during the zero readings of all the instruments installed, with the help of the managers of the specialized companies who will arrange for the installation and maintenance of the instrumentation;
drafting of a weekly report to be sent to the Client and to the Works Management regarding the current state of the measures, accompanied by appropriate explanatory diagrams and any photographic documentation;
interface with the operating structure (Worksite Management) for the reporting of any anomalies, whether due to exceeding thresholds or malfunctioning of the instrumentation.
preventive assessment, in agreement with the operational structure of the site and the Works Management, regarding the procedures to be applied in the event of exceeding the alarm thresholds envisaged in the monitoring system and the consequent actions to be taken; a special report will be drawn up from this preventive analysis. In particular, the admissible tolerance limits will be highlighted in advance in relation to the project forecasts and those for which the work in progress must be declared suspended.
MONITORING SYSTEMS The plan can be divided into the following monitoring systems:

• static monitoring of all interfering buildings;
• dynamic monitoring of buildings;
• topographic monitoring;
• monitoring of the movements of the retaining works;
• monitoring of groundwater levels;
• monitoring of the existing deck.
STATIC MONITORING OF BUILDINGS

The monitoring system can provide for the installation of instruments suitable for the evaluation of differential settlements during the executive phases of the works. In particular, the instrumentation will also have to give an evaluation of the rotations of the buildings. The stability of the buildings will be measured by means of several types of instruments capable of providing measures that will have to be integrated and evaluated jointly. In particular, it can be envisaged to use:

• crack meters;
• wall clinometers.
